With the 19th pick in the 2007 NFL Draft the Tennessee Titans SHOULD take Chris Houston , CB, Arkansas
The defense is awful and the receivers are deep this year in the draft. I think the Titans need to re-identify itself with its defense. Dwayne Jarrett is a very likely choice for Tennessee and yes, Young needs weapons but they can't hope for shootouts to win games.
Houston is a physical corner who would help replace the suspended Pac-Man Jones and help set a tone for where the defense needs to be. His tight coverage and physical play will lead to more big play opportunities for the entire defense and give a shorter field to Vince and the offense, which could possibly have Turner the backfield soon. With a year long suspension of Jones this becomes a greater need now than it was before. Houston, Revis or Hall would all make perfect sense.

With the 19th selection in the 2007 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans SHOULD select Robert Meachem, WR, Tennessee.
When you think about it, it's sort of alarming that a team as devoid of talent as the Titans has to draft at the 19th spot. This was a team using smoke and mirrors (and Vince Young) to cover up a weak team before they lost Travis Henry, Drew Bennett, Bobby Wade, and Pac-Man Jones.
But things could turn around -- they could trade a 2nd for Michael Turner, and maybe Nick Harper will make a difference at CB. But there's nothing on the horizon to help out the WR corps, and that's why they have to take hometown favorite Robert Meachem.
Meachem set the Tennessee single-season record for receiving yards last year and brought in 11 TDs to boot. He has legit deep speed in pads and catches the ball very naturally on the run. His 6' 2" and 215 lbs. also give him the big-body shield that fellow speedster Ted Ginn, Jr. lacks. When a play breaks down, Young will have an easier time finding a big guy on the run, and Meachem knows how to use his large frame to his advantage. First round WRs are often a gamble, but his combo of size, speed, and hands make Meachem the surest bet after CJ.

With the 19th pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans SHOULD take Aaron Ross, CB, Texas Longhorns.
It's "Game Over" for Adam -idiot, errr Pacman- Jones. This has changed the Titans thinking going forward in terms of character concerns compared to on the field talent. This also may have changed the direction they were headed with their 1st round pick. Jones was not only a starting cornerback, but he was also relied on in the return game.
Aaron Ross fits both of those needs to a tee. Ross is a tall cornerback that has long arms he uses to jam receivers at the line of scrimmage. His speed is great, and he does have remarkable recovery speed and can make up ground if he takes false steps. He is a great student of the game, and his film works allows him a great field presence and understanding of where the play will go.
Ross can be a dangerous kick and punt returner as well. Jeff Fisher loves players that are versatile, and Aaron can excel in many different situations. The Titans would love to have Ross, a player that is sure to be a welcome change from the types of Pacman Jones.

With the 19th pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans SHOULD take Ted Ginn Jr., WR/KR, Ohio State.
First things first, the Titans should go forward as if PacMan will never play for them again. He might, but it's foolish for them to assume that he will return from the suspension without incident. This makes CB a perfectly reasonable pick here. The thing is, reason did not dictate the pick of Vince Young last year, boldness did. That same visionary boldness should lead the Titans to select Ted Ginn Jr.
Ginn will give the Titans a game changer in two categories. He would step right in and provide the momentum turning returns that PacMan gave the Titans last year, but perhaps more importantly, he give will Vince Young that ultimate threat he is lacking at WR.
Sure, Ginn might have trouble firing off the line against the jam, and he might get devoured by physical coverage, but it's not like he is being drafted into a quick hitter, timing based offense, and it's not like he'll be expected to be a 90 catch #1 receiver. I picture Ginn (who is a VERY competitive) and Young hitting it off. If they can establish a "mind-meld" where Ginn starts to instinctively release when he sees VY keeping a play alive, the possibilities are frightening for opposing defenses. We know VY can heave the ball 50-60 yards from any platform. We know Ginn can separate from just about anyone on the planet. Ginn + Young = the ability to score any time from anywhere on the field, and I don't know how you pass that up.
