Sean Baca

With the 30th pick in the 2007 NFL Draft the San Diego Chargers SHOULD take Dwayne Bowe , WR, LSU

Wow, this mock draft still has a monster prospect like Bowe left and the Chargers have few holes to fill but WR is one of them. Who are you going to watch for now?

Bowe is a very big receiver, and I mean in the way he plays the game. He utilizes his strength very well and has great body control, a testament to his "core" strength. His size and ability to run the seams would help Gates and Tomlinson and certainly it would help Rivers. The defense is very sound and an additional weapon on offense and they become a terror to play on Sunday.

Marc Faletti

With the 30th pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, the San Diego Chargers SHOULD select Charles Johnson, DE, Georgia.

Whatever sort of defense you play, Charles Johnson fits at DE. He plays the run as well as the pass, registering an SEC-leading 19 stops for losses along with 9.5 sacks last season. He plays every snap hard and fights to make a play even when he's initially contained. He isn't explosive physically, but he seems to anticipate the snap as well as any college player in recent memory.

He's still on the board because he won't race around any OTs on the corner, but he's certainly capable of beating them with his hands and footwork. The Chargers are loaded pretty much everywhere, and BPA Johnson would add fantastic depth in the trenches.

Cecil Lammey

With the 30th pick in the 2007 NFL Draft the San Diego Chargers SHOULD take Eric Weddle, S, Utah Utes.

San Diego has undergone some changes in the offseason. Yes, that could be the understatement of the year. Isn't it logical for a 14-2 team to turn EVERYTHING over? The one thing that hasn't changed for the Chargers is their need for a playmaking Safety.

Eric Weddle is the perfect fit in San Diego. He is a versatile playmaker that can fill in at nickel back, or line up at Safety. He can turn and run with receivers, and is very adept at sniffing out where the QB intends to go with the ball.

Sigmund Bloom

With the 30th pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, the San Diego Chargers SHOULD select Sidney Rice, WR, South Carolina.

The Chargers can afford to take a luxury as they are sitting on the doorstep of the Super Bowl. Rice may take a year longer than the other first tier WRs to develop, but only Calvin Johnson has more upside.

San Diego has a big guy to clear out the middle in Gates, and a big guy with speed to occupy the deep safety in Vincent Jackson, but they lack a WR with the ability to make individual to make the spectacular play. Rice's ball skills and body control are outstanding and he should give Rivers the downfield playmaker he sorely needs.
