With the 22nd pick in the 2007 NFL Draft the Dallas Cowboys SHOULD take Justin Blalock, OL, Texas

The Cowboys signed Leonard Davis but still need help on the line. There are a few quality guards/tackles in the draft this year but Blalock is the only one that could easily play right tackle for the Cowboys.

Receivers like Ted Ginn who they may well go with here, have been mentioned often by Cowboy fans but a big athletic lineman would help solidify the line and receiver could easily be addressed in later rounds. The Cowboys need depth at wide receiver with both starters over 30 but if they decide to go for depth they should trade down. The depth is there and will still be thick in the second round.

Left guard Marco Rivera, recovering from his second back surgery, will likely retire. Right tackle Marc Colombo could remain at tackle or be replaced by Blalock who is being projected at guard but could easily be the rock at right tackle in a power running style of offense that the Cowboys and Phillips like to run.

With the 22nd pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys SHOULD select Jarvis Moss, DE/OLB, Florida.

When it comes to pressuring the QB in Dallas, DeMarcus Ware could use some help. Greg Ellis is getting old, and his injury last season exposed the Cowboys' lack of depth. Without him, Seattle easily contained Ware in the playoffs, limiting him to a lone tackle. The jury's still out on Bobby Carpenter, but a team this close to championship contention can't afford to wait for him to find the right LB spot.

Jarvis Moss battled an unusual staph infection throughout his early collegiate career, but once it was finally cured, he immediately improved the Florida D. When he finds a lane of pursuit, he cuts through it decisively to get to the passer. He also excels at forcing QB fumbles upon arrival. Moss lacks the power to shrug off linemen, but any who are slow of foot will struggle to catch him. Also, given that he's still regaining weight on his body, Moss may yet add some power to his game.

If they want to win in the playoffs, the Cowboys must reliably harrass opposing quarterbacks. Moss is quick enough laterally to play OLB and should be one of the best instant-impact edge rushers in the draft.

With the 22nd pick in the 2007 NFL draft, the Dallas Cowboys SHOULD take Dwayne Bowe, WR, Louisiana State Tigers.

The Cowboys need some youth in their WR corps. We all know that T.O. is great when his head is in the game, and Terry Glenn is certainly a solid veteran. However, outside of re-signing Patrick Crayton, the Cowboys are rather long in the tooth when it comes to playmakers at WR.

This is where the young phenom known as Dwayne Bowe comes into play. Many scouts compare Bowe's size to that of Michael Irvin. Let's not put him in the HOF just yet, but I do know that he currently has no problems with drugs or prostitutes, so that's a good thing. What Bowe can do is give this team another big (but young) WR that can bully around nickel backs. Dwayne will not wow you with his speed, but he is very adept at using his big frame to give his QB the biggest and best target possible. He has good hands, and can go up and get the jump pass. His size affords him the ability to push around smaller defenders, and he's not afraid to catch passes over the middle either.

Tony Romo needs some help on offense. The Cowboys never know when the ticking T.O. timebomb will go off, so it's best for them to get some insurance. It sure does help when that insurance has the potential to be a big time playmaker in the NFL.

With the 22nd pick in the 2007 NFL draft, the Dallas Cowboys SHOULD take Robert Meachem, WR, Tennessee.

The Cowboys have no immediate glaring needs to address with this pick, Long term needs that will need to be addressed in the draft include the secondary, LB, OL, and WR, and in my draft, the best value at this slot comes at WR

For this year, the Boys should be able to ride their NFL senior citizen combo of Terry Glenn and Terrell Owens, with Patrick Crayton punishing defense that fail to account for him. Miles Austin and Sam Hurd are both developing prospects who *could* pan out down the line, but there is very little *could* about Meachem, when you describe him, you use the word "will".

Meachem will stretch defenses with his deep speed from day one. Meachem will be of the toughest WRs to bring down after the catch. Meachem will allow the Cowboys to not have to tolerate "the T.O. show" if it gets too disruptive because his size, speed, and RAC ability fill Owens role to a tee. The Cowboys should not pass on the opportunity to settle one-half of their starting WR combo well into the future.
