Josh Buchanan covers "pro hopefuls" for www.d2football.com, and helped select players for the Las Vegas All-American Classic and the Magnolia Gridiron Classic, and he was kind enough to share his small school prospect interviews with us.
FS Bobbie Williams, Bethune-Cookman
Josh.: What is your current height, weight and workout numbers?
Bobbie: My height 6'1, weight is 210 pounds, and my 40 is a 4.45. My vertical is 36 inches and my bench reps are 18 reps of 225.
Josh.: Did you play any other sports in high school besides football?
Bobbie: I ran track.
Josh.: Do you have any relatives who played in the NFL?
Bobbie: No relatives in the NFL.
Josh.: What do you feel are your strengths and weaknesses?
Bobbie: My strength is that I can read the quarterback real well and I have to get back to you on my weakness. I want to increase my speed and my one on one coverage a little more.
Josh.: Who is the best player you have faced in your career?
Bobbie: That is a good question. I will say Darnell Jenkins who played at Miami from high school.
Josh.: Who is the best player on your team?
Bobbie: Paul Neupaul.
Josh.: Who else do you feel has the potential to play in the NFL on your team?
Bobbie: I would say Paul Neufville and we have a linebacker named Ronnie McCullough. I would also James Monds.
Josh.: You are a returning All-American and projected preseason Buck Buchanan Award candidate. What do these awards mean to you?
Bobbie: I pretty much expected to be an All-American because I set high standards for myself. I expected to.
Josh.: If you had to pick would you rather put a big hit on an opponent or pick off a pass?
Bobbie: Obviously I would rather get the pick but at the beginning of the game to set the tone I want to get the big hit.
Josh.: Which type of coverage do you feel you're best in?
Bobbie: Cover 2 and man free. I like to be free to roam in the middle of the field.
Josh.: Are there any other players in the country you enjoy watching or like to take parts of their game from to implement in your game?
Bobbie: Brian Dawkins. He will go get the pick and lay it on you when you come across the middle.
Josh.: You are a highly rated draft prospect among non FBS players right now. What is it like to be mentioned as a top prospect and what does playing in the NFL mean to you?
Bobbie: It means a lot to be and keep the tradition going on with my school. I have former colleagues like Rashean Mathis and Nick Collins. It means a lot to me to keep the tradition going.
Josh.: What are your goals for this year?
Bobbie: My goals are to finish with double digit interceptions. I don't want to but if I have to I will lead the team in tackles but I will.
Josh.: What are your future goals?
Bobbie: I want to graduate from college and make it in the NFL.
