Offense dominates the middle of the 1st

With the Titans’ ridiculous choice of Chris Johnson, 11 of the last 13 picks have been offensive players at QB, RB, or OL. Clearly, with defensive players crowding the top of the draft, teams with offensive needs were posed to reap the rewards in the teens and early 20s.

Meanwhile, for my money, Dallas will either be kicking themselves or pumping fists like Tiger Woods… it all depends on what happens with Jenkins. To me, there was an excellent chance Felix Jones would fall to 28 given that Mendenhall was still available. But Jenkins is much more likely to be gone before then. Will they regret passing on a fine complement to Newman? This reporter says yes. Unless he falls to 28.

Here We Go Steelers… Here We Go

Please…. Jenkins or Merling… Puuuhhhlease

*praying*

I guess sometimes it is that easy to mock picks. Did anyone have Mendenhall at RB4 (or later?)

Were the Steelers About To Take Baker?

Why in the name of all that is good did Atlanta trade up to take a player that most of us had as a second round pick? The only thing I can think of is that they had intel that the Steelers were going to take him.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys have their choice of Mendenhall or Jenkins or any safety or WR or role playing RB they want. The Steelers should be happy with Merling, Jenkins, or Mendenhall. And Titans fans should revolt if Merling is there and they don’t take him.

Should be fun to see if Jerry Jones really does break the seal on drafting Hogs for his team.

Talib Over Jenkins? Really?

Jenkins played his college ball in Tampa. He didn’t have an issue with the mean green. Or getting beaten repeatedly by the better WRs in his conference. Whether it’s Washington, Dallas, Pittsburgh, or another team in the twenties, someone is going to get a steal. Meanwhile, we’re hearing on the floor that some teams took Talib completely off their board - Gruden sure does like to give questionable characters the benefit of the doubt.

Catching my breath in between these trades, some interesting possibilities are emerging - Mendenhall a Cowboy? Merling a Steeler? or Mendenhall a Steeler? Jenkins, Mendenhall and Merling are the clear top three left on my board.

Has anyone figured out why Baltimore traded up? or why Carolina let Philly fleece them for an OT who only played two years of big time college football? The deeper we get into the first, the sillier it gets. I love it.

Who Was Going To Take Flacco?

I’m mystified. Maybe they had intel that another team was getting ready to move up?

Congrats Philly fans, you get Otah. My gut feeling was that Baltimore was moving up to snag Otah right under Philly’s nose. Mike Jenkins could fall into Tampa’s lap. Merling into Washington’s. I have no idea who to project for Dallas, Pittsburgh, and Tennessee.
Mendenhall in Dallas would be sick. We’re also getting into the WR strike zone.

The suspense is killing me!
