- Dustin Fry to St Louis at 139 - This guy plays like a state wrestling champ. He will fight to the whistle - his grit makes up for lack of NFL quickness or an NFL body
- Greg Peterson to Tampa Bay at 141 - He might be an OLB/DE tweener, but Tampa will be to use his explosive pass rush to help offset the loss of Dewayne White and eventual depature of Simeon Rice
- Steve Breaston to Arizona at 143 - Breaston will be nice slot receiver to work the middle and compliment all the giant WRs Arizona has, and more importantly, give them the punch they have lacked in the return game
- Aundrae Allison to Minnesota at 146 - Allison will push Mewelde Moore as a punt returner and challenge the unimpressive group of WRs in Minnesota. Don’t be surprised if he ends up emerging from the pack as a #2 or #3 for them by year’s end.
- Cameron Stephenson to Pittsburgh at 156 - Finally a Steelers pick I like - as a former DT, Stephenson has the junkyard dog mentality the Steelers value in their O linemen
- C.J. Gaddis to Philadelphia at 159 - Philly doesn’t expect much from their rookies, which offsets Gaddis’s cost as a raw athlete who has played all over the secondary. His infectious enthusiasm for the game bodes well.
- Eric Frampton to Oakland at 165 - Will justify the pick with special teams play alone, but Washington State’s secondary coach has said he might better than Erik Coleman was when he came out.
- Kevin Payne and Corey Graham to Chicago at 167/168 - Two terrific small school DBs, one (Graham) helps reload at CB, the other can play FS and possibly free up Danieal Manning to move to CB. Obviously Chicago knows what to do small school DBs - Danieal Manning contributed big as a starter in his first year
- Troy Smith to Baltimore at 174 - This pick will be discussed more than any other 2nd day pick. There is nothing blocking Smith from the being the starter in 2008 if his development goes well
