We are 10+ hours into Day 1, and everyone is bleary-eyed and weary. However, this is where the prepared teams make solid picks and wake up on Day 2 quite happy.
As far as happiness goes, it was nice to see some of The Audible favorites go. Lorenzo Booker to Miami is a steal, and will compliment that offense well. He and Ginn really add speed to that offense. They could look completely different six months from now.
Jacoby Jones of Lane was a solid pick for the Texans who have a big question mark for a WR2 entering 2007 (Kevin Walter?? Come on).
Speaking of WRs, a few went off the board including a Faletti fav in Jason Hill. There’s another team in need of WR help, and Hill could add some needed skill to the position.
With 20+ picks to go, the teams that press on are the teams that will benefit in the long run.
Also look for Day 1 guys that were projected to be off the board by Pick 100 to be targeted early on Day 2.
