Rashard does a great job of feeling the hole and finding the creases in a defense. What I love most about him is the way he finishes every run going forward, that is something that cannot be taught. He is good out of the backfield and is very tough, there is zero questions about durability. There are many that doubt his long speed but he will break plenty of long runs (maybe not to the house) just because of his willingness to play between the tackles. I personally believe he is the best pure running back in the class and I cannot wait to see where he goes in April.

As former Browns/Rams scout Russ Lande told us on The Audible, it is difficult to evaluate a RB coming from the spread formation. One has to consider that there might be a little VY/Cedric Benson effect from the presence of Juice Williams. The holes will not be a big in a traditional offense, and I think that Mendenhall could have a rough transition. He doesn't have track speed, but he has plenty of burst. Unfortunately, when changing direction Rashard has a tendency to take false steps, and cannot cut on a dime. Because of this, he is not very elusive in the open field and likes to bowl over defenders rather than run around them.
