Cover 2 - QB Andre Woodson
by Cecil Lammey & Andrew Garda

High Side
Lammey

Andre Woodson is a QB that can make plays from the pocket or on the run. He is very good at reading the defense pre-snap, and makes good decisions when calling an audible. His 3, 5, and 7 step drops are very smooth and he is mechanically sound when throwing the football. He has very good arm strength, and his ball-placement skills when throwing downfield are top notch. Perhaps his most outstanding attribute is his ability to stand in the pocket, take the heat from the rush, and still deliver the ball with great accuracy.

Low Side
Garda

Woodson's most obvious problem is his delivery, which is big and deliberate. If he can't adjust it, he'll give NFL D's too much time to tee off on his passes. The delivery adds to other issues like his tendency to lock onto a primary receiver and his overly meticulous set-up prior to passing. After Mobile, these flaws make him look more a work in progress than a ready-for-prime-time starter and as such, maybe not worth a high draft pick. Woodson also lacks premiere elusiveness out of the pocket he'll get you the odd yards, but rarely a big play out of a busted one.
