Erik has all the measurable attributes that cause scouts to foam at the mouth, 6-6/220 lbs. and a very good arm. Erik has the ability to make all the throws necessary at the next level and he is most impressive when he throws on the run. His ability to square up and deliver the ball downfield while scrambling will be his ticket into training camp this summer. Erik is also very tall in the pocket when he delivers the ball, which is again another great measurable. The only question about Erik is, can he take raw skills and combine it with raw determination and turn the corner? Taking his Vols to the SEC Title game combined with his game winning drive in the Senior Bowl are two impressive ways to end your career and prepare for the draft.

There are serious durability concerns with Erik Ainge. His career at Tennessee was hampered by lingering injuries every season. He has a slender build, and perhaps if he were to put on more weight it would help him stay on the field. When flushed out of the pocket he loses his accuracy. He does not have a canon for an arm, and his deep passes tend to sail.
