2008 NFL Draft Prospect Interview

Josh Buchanan covers "pro hopefuls" for www.d2football.com, and helped select players for the Las Vegas All-American Classic and the Magnolia Gridiron Classic, and he was kind enough to share his small school prospect interviews with us.

S Kyle Jackson, Florida

Josh: What are your current measurables such as height, weight, 40, and bench, reps?

Kyle: 6'1, 208,4.52,15reps

Josh: Why did you choose Florida coming out of high school?

Kyle: I chose Florida because it was close to home and the depth chart was slim for safeties in 2004 and so I felt I had a very good chance of seeing early playing time.

Josh: Where have you been training?

Kyle: I have been training in Jacksonville at the Hit Center.

Josh: What did you want to work on most while training?

Kyle: My 40 time and my bench press and position drills.

Josh: Who else was training with you?

Kyle: Willie Cooper (Miami, Fl), Ben Ballard (BCC), Heath Benedict (Newberry), Brandon Flowers (JU), and some of the Jacksonville Jaguars. (Mike Peterson, Greg Jones, David Garrard, and Daryl Smith)

Josh: What do you feel are your biggest strengths on the field?

Kyle: My biggest strength on the field is my intelligence and how good I anticipate the play.

Josh: What are your biggest weaknesses on the field?

Kyle: My biggest weakness on the field is not wrapping up when I tackle

Josh: What is your favorite thing about playing safety?

Kyle: The big hits!

Josh: Do you have any players on your team who you feel will be NFL prospects next year?

Kyle: Percy Harvin, Tim Tebow, Cornileus Ingram, Jason Watkins, Jim Tartt, Louis Murphy, and Phil Trautwien

Josh: Which teams have shown the most interest in you so far?

Kyle: Miami, Houston, San Diego, and Oakland

Josh: Do you have any expectations on draft day such as a round or team?

Kyle: No.

Josh: What are your future goals outside of playing in the NFL?

Kyle: I want to open up a gym in Jacksonville with one of my friends and have a sucsseful family.
