LSU
QB JaMarcus Russell (65/256)
Arm Size: 34 1/2
Hand Size: 9 1/2
40-Time: 4.83 (only ran once)
Bench Press: Did Not Bench
Broad Jump: Did Not Jump
Vertical Jump: Did Not Jump
Analysis: Russells 40-time would have been in the middle of the pack at the combine among signal callers, but no one is drafting him because of his mobility. He did drop nine of those pounds that caused a fuss at the combine. More important than anything he does on the field, including throwing the football, which he did do well, how Russell performs at the individual interviews is the most important factor in determining where he is selected. He will have to look team executives in the eye and tell them why they should build their franchise around him, as well as fork over a boatload of cash.
WR Dwayne Bowe (62/218)
Arm Size: 33 1/4
Hand Size: 9 3/4
40-Time: 4.49 & 4.40
Bench Press: Did Not Bench
Broad Jump: 105
Vertical Jump: 3 7 1/2
Analysis: Just call him Big Hands Bowe. The LSU receiver improved his 40-time from the combine (4.51) as well as his vertical (33), which can only help solidify him as a first round pick. Dont be surprised if Bowe is the second receiver off the board after Calvin Johnson of Georgia Tech.
WR Craig Davis (61/202)
Arm Size: 30 3/8
Hand Size: 9 1/4
40-Time: 4.44 & 4.41
Bench Press: Did Not Bench
Broad Jump: 101
Vertical Jump: 36 1/2
Analysis: Buster did not perform at the combine, but he made up for it running well at LSU, keeping pace with or running faster than the likes of Anthony Gonzalez and Steve Smith, who will be two of the players Davis will compete with for second round status.
RB Justin Vincent (510/219)
Arm Size: 30 1/4
Hand Size: 9 1/8
40-Time: 4.66 & 4.65
Bench Press: 16
20-Yard Shuttle: 4.49
3-Cone: 7.09
Broad Jump: 91
Vertical Jump: 29 1/2
Analysis: As a freshman, Vincent looked like a future first rounder, however injuries have slowed him down in a way that defenses could not, so much so that he was not even invited to the combine. His performance on the 40 and the 20-yard shuttle only confirmed he is not all the way back. However, his 7.09 on the cones matched what Adrian Peterson and Marshawn Lynch, which means
he still has some quickness and acceleration left.
FS LaRon Landry (61/2/212)
Arm Size: 31 5/8
Hand Size: 9 3/8
40-Time: Did Not Run
Bench Press: 20
Short Shuttle: 4.36
3-Cone: 7.11
Broad Jump: 106
Vertical Jump: 38
Analysis: Not surprisingly, Landry did not run after posting an impressive 4.35 in Indy. His 106 broad jump out did his combine leap (103), as well as that of every other safety in Indy other than Daren Stone.
SS Jessie Daniels (510/209)
Arm Size: 30 1/4
Hand Size: 9 3/8
40-Time: 4.61 & 4.54
Bench Press: 20
20-Yard Shuttle: 4.25
3-Cone: 7.12
Broad Jump: 10
Vertical Jump: 32 1/2"
Analysis: Like Davis, Daniels only weighed in at the combine. His second run of the 40 was solid, after a poor first attempt. His vertical would have been the worst posted by a strong safety at the combine, but most of his numbers were middle of the pack.
DE Chase Pittman (64/270)
Arm Size: 32 1/2
Hand Size: 10 3/4
40-Time: 5.03 & 5.09
Bench Press: 26
Short Shuttle: 4.64
3-Cone: 7.58
Broad Jump: 86
Vertical Jump: 27 1/2
Analysis: Pittman was the fourth Tiger who did not work out while in Indianapolis. His 40-time was slow, as was his shuttle and 3-cone times. Meanwhile, his vertical and broad jumps would have been the worst among DEs at the combine as he displayed little to no speed or athleticism.
CB Daniel Francis (510 1/2/191)
Arm Size: 30 3/8
Hand Size: 9 1/8
40-Time: 4.41 (only ran once)
Bench Press: 18
Broad Jump: 106
Vertical Jump: 36 1/2
Analysis: Francis, who was not invited to Indy, stood on his first 40-time, I would too if I ran a 4.41. He also showed some strength and good athleticism. According to Draft Bible and Yahoo! Sports draft insider, John Murphy, Francis hopes to perform the shuttles later this month.
