**Tell "the other AD" exactly what you think of his mock in "Like Nothing You've Ever Seen Before!" Mock Discussion Thread**
1. Oakland Raiders - JaMarcus Russell, QB, LSU
I've been broken down on this pick. I still think they SHOULD draft Brady Quinn since he's the more polished of the two QBs.
**Tampa Bay trades 1.04 and 2.03 to Detroit for 1.02**
2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (from DET) - Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech
Detroit takes less value, but gets an additional high 2nd rounder. Tampa gets the best player in the draft. What more can you say about CJ?
3. Cleveland Browns - Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame
They have to take one of the two top QBs if available. I know AP is a great option, but they cannot win with the QBs currently on the roster.
**Arizona trades 1.05 and 4.05 to Detroit for 1.04**
4. Arizona Cardinals - Joe Thomas, LT, Wisconsin
They did just sign Mike Gandy, so I'm not sure about this pick anymore. No, I'm not serious. Moving up one spot is a no-brainer for their biggest need.
5. Detroit Lions (from ARI) - Patrick Willis, LB, Mississippi
I think this is the guy they're targeting all along but can't take him at #2. Their two biggest needs on defense are ILB and DE. There's a much larger dropoff in LB's than DE's, so Willis makes more sense.
6. Washington Redskins - Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson
D-line is the obvious need, especially a pass rusher.
**Buffalo trades 1.07 to Minnesota for 1.12, 3.10 and 3.27**
7. Buffalo Bills (from MIN) - Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma
Buffalo fills their biggest need on offense and gets the next great RB. They could stay put and take Lynch, but Peterson is head and shoulders above him in talent.
8. Atlanta Falcons - LaRon Landry, S, LSU
Just going with the flow here.
9. Miami Dolphins - Chris Houston, CB, Arkansas
Miami is supposedly not high on Levi Brown and no other LT is worth this spot. Besides, their d-backs were wretched last year. I'm no fan of Leon Hall, if you can't tell.
10. Houston Texans - Amobi Okoye, DE, Louisville
Will allow Mario to show why he was the #1 overall last year.
11. San Francisco 49ers - Jamaal Anderson, DE, Arkansas
While both Branch and Carriker are great fits, Anderson helps smooth the transition from 4-3 to 3-4, if they even do so.
12. Minnesota Vikings (from BUF) - Robert Meachem, WR, Tennessee
I'm not convinced the Vikings brass would like to take a WR in round 1. But it's a great PR move else the Vikings fans burn down the Metrodome. Which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing either.
13. St Louis Rams - Adam Carriker, DE, Nebraska
Allows for a lot of versatility on their weak d-line as he can play either inside at DT or outside at DE.
14. Carolina Panthers - Greg Olsen, TE, Miami
I'm beginning to think this is a lock. There's two things that make this make sense to me. 1) The Panthers greatest need is a TE (or WR) that can take pressure off Steve Smith and 2) The Panther's new OC, Jeff Davidson, has a history of working with tight ends. He took over for Maurice Carthon last year in Cleveland and got a lot of performance out of the one-legged/half-brained Kellen Winslow Jr.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers - Lawrence Timmons, LB, Florida State
Versatile backer has been scouted heavily by new coach Tomlin. Can play in either the 3-4 or the 4-3.
16. Green Bay Packers - Alan Branch, DT, Michigan
Since they'll likely move Jenkins outside (forcing out KGB), the Branch slide ends here.
17. Jacksonville Jaguars - Reggie Nelson, S, Florida
I normally think safety is an overrated position, but the need is too great to ignore here.
18. Cincinnati Bengals - Darrelle Revis, CB, Pitt
This team is on the verge of implosion once again. Their defense could be pretty lousy again this year.
19. Tennessee Titans - Marshawn Lynch, RB, Cal
If the Turner deal goes through, this whole draft gets blown to hell. Lendale White just may be the dumbest football player ever.
20. New York Giants - Paul Posluszny, LB, Penn State
CB and LB are the biggest needs. Pos is the best value here.
21. Denver Broncos - Jon Beason, LB, Miami
Broncos faithful are demanding a safety and Griffin would be a great fit. But I'm assuming Al Wilson is gone and Beason makes an excellent replacement.
22. Dallas Cowboys - Ted Ginn, WR, Ohio State
Some love him, others hate him. But I think he's a good fit in Dallas where the recievers are aging.
23. Kansas City Chiefs - Levi Brown , LT, Penn State
I know I'll get a lot of flak for him falling this far. But I just don't see him as an upper tier tackle. In KC, however, he'll be most welcome to a severely aging line.
24. New England Patriots (from SEA) - Michael Griffin, S, Texas
Harrison simply cannot stay healthy and is old to boot.
25. New York Jets - Leon Hall, CB, Michigan
Too far for him to drop? Maybe, maybe not. No denying that the Jets would pounce on him if given the opportunity.
26. Philadelphia Eagles - Brandon Meriweather, S, Miami
I think the character issues will be resolved to the Eagles' front office satisfaction.
27. New Orleans Saints - Dwayne Bowe, WR, LSU
Corner is a huge need, but the prospects that remain are a stretch here. There are a couple that could slip into this spot like Josh Wilson or Eric Wright. But in the end, the Saints envision the hometown guy pairing with Colston for years.
28. New England Patriots - David Harris, ILB, Michigan
Might be a reach but is just the type of player that New England is known for. I think he'll be a 3-4 stud.
29. Baltimore Ravens - Ryan Kalil, C, USC
Mike Flynn is declining and Chris Chester can move to guard.
30. San Diego Chargers - Eric Weddle, S, Utah
A slight reach, but there's no denying the guy has skills AND versatility. Just the type of player that could help out in numerous areas as a rookie, especially for a team with Super Bowl aspirations.
31. Chicago Bears - Justin Blalock, OT, Texas
Versatile Blalock helps at both guard positions and could spell at Fred Miller at RT in a pinch.
32. Indianapolis Colts - Sidney Rice, WR, South Carolina
I know there are lots of holes in the defense. In fact there are too many to plug with just one pick in the first two rounds. Sometimes you draft your strength and with the departure of Stokely and aging of Harrison, Rice is a great #3 for now as well as the WR of the future.
